Africa the Serengeti
To bring real world cinematography and live action stories into the dome as never before, E&S has introduced the first large format film for digital fulldome theaters. Last summer we released a 15/70 to 4k digital transfer of Africa the Serengeti. Filmed in Tanzania and Kenya, Africa features dazzling cinematography of millions of wildebeests, zebras, and antelopes in their annual 500-mile migration across the Serengeti Plains. In deadly pursuit of their migrating prey are Africa’s great predators: lions, cheetahs, hyenas, jackals and crocodiles. Narrated by James Earl Jones, Africa the Serengeti provides a spectacular view of the Great Migration that few humans have ever witnessed. In a revolutionary new image distortion technique, a large format film can fill up to 90% of the dome with minimal distortion. The results are powerful and truly immersive.
