Feature Presentations with Gate Share Pricing
E&S Digital Theater introduces Feature Presentations™, a fresh approach to providing new show content for your digital theater. Twice a year, in the spring and in the fall, we will offer a new full-dome show for general release into digital planetariums worldwide. As an important part of our new release strategy, these shows will be available for a low up-front distribution fee and a share of the ticket price at the box office.

What is Feature Presentations?
Feature Presentations is a subscription service that offers two new full-dome shows for your theater each year from E&S Digital Theater Productions. Shows are available for an annual license or for “gate share” pricing.
How does the "gate share" pricing work?
We will charge a small initial distribution fee, which covers packaging the show and the marketing materials that we will send to your theater. Once the show opens, we will receive a percentage of the gross box office receipts, typically 25%, as the license fee. You will need to submit quarterly reports and payments for the show. Details concerning these reports and payments will be included with the show and marketing materials.
Is “gate share” pricing ideal for every theater?
Surprisingly, no. Gate share pricing is most beneficial for larger commercial theaters that have a higher audience throughput and depend on ticket sales as a key source of revenue. Smaller planetariums or educational institutions will probably benefit more from a standard license when the theater is not a key source of revenue for the facility.
What materials will I receive to help me promote the show?
The electronic marketing kit includes print-ready movie poster artwork, stills from the show, Digistar 3 and E&S Digital Theater logos, and a trailer for the show in several versions, including DVD, 16:9 JPEG sequence for import into a digital editing system for output to video, and full-dome with 5.1 channel surround sound.
How does a worldwide release date work in the planetarium world?
We will ship the marketing materials several months in advance of the scheduled release date so that you can begin promoting the show in your theater. About two weeks before the release date, we will ship the show to you already encoded into MPEG-2 streams for playback on your Digistar 3 system.
What shows are scheduled for release?
Seven Wonders is scheduled for a May 11, 2007 release, and Zula Patrol is scheduled for fall.
What about other shows in the E&S Library?
All other shows in the E&S Library will be available as a gate share license or as a traditional annual license. Legacy shows including Wonders of the Universe, New Horizons and Microcosm will be available at a reduced rate.
